Sony Xperia XZ2 Review
Along with the Xperia XZ2 Compact, Sony also released the latest version of the Sony Xperia XZ1. It is the Sony Xperia XZ2 that has more advanced specs and features of the XZ1. Xperia XZ1 was announced last August 2017 and then released on the September 2017. The new Xperia XZ2 has a different design compared to the XZ1. But some specs are somewhat similar to the old model version.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Specs is Hybrid dual Nano SIM card that supports up to 4G LTE network band. It has the dimensions of 153 x 72 x 11.1 mm (6.02 x 2.83 x 0.44 in) and weighing 198 g. The phone is an IP68 certified that has a dust/waterproof features where can handle up to 1.5 m for 30 minutes. It has a full-screen view display design of 5.7 inches in size and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with HDR BT.2020 compliant, Triluminos display, X-Reality Engine features. The display resolution is 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio and 424PPi density.
The Operating System has the version of Android 8.0 Oreo powered by 2.7 GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor. It has a variation of 4 GB RAM and 6 GB RAM with 64 GB internal memory. And the most exciting is, the external memory for expandable storage is up to 400 GB capacity via microSD card. Since it is a Hybrid Dual SIM card phone, the SIM 2 slot will be the slot to use in inserting the external memory. The large capacity of external storage is one of the highlights of the XZ2.
The same with the XZ1, the primary camera has the quality of 19 Megapixels f/2.0 with gyro EIS, predictive phase detection, and laser autofocus together with the LED Flash at the top of the camera. The camera features including Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, and HDR. While the front camera is a bit disappointing for having a 5 Megapixels only with gyro EIS, 1080p. Compared to the XZ1 that has 13 MP f/2.0 with gyro EIS, 1080p. The XZ1 has a high-quality of Megapixels of the front camera than the XZ2.
The video resolution has the qualities of 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps and 1080p@960fps. The same with the old version model, it has all type of alerts and stereo speaker for loudspeaker features. The XZ2 doesn’t support with a 3.5mm jack port but it has a sound features of 24-bit/192kHz audio and Dynamic vibration system. It has also a dedicated mic for noise cancellation. The dedicated mic will help to deliver a good quality of background sound during Call time.
As for the connectivity, the WIFI has a dual-band features, Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP, aptX HD, LE), GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO), NFC supported and the USB Type-C port that can be reversible. Along with that, at the back of the device, there is a fingerprint scanner (rear-mounted) together with the primary camera. The other sensor features are accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer, compass and color spectrum. It has a non-removable battery with the capacity of 3180 mAh Li-Ion and supported with fast charging features. It also has the features of wireless charging as one of the highlights of the phone.
The color variations of the phone are Liquid Black, Liquid Silver, Deep Green and Ash Pink. Sony stated the official price of the phone about 800 EUR or Php 51,199.20 (converted into Philippine money).
