Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact Review

Sony announced their latest smartphone last February 2018 under the series of XZ flagship. The first smartphone under the XZ series was released last October 2016. Unlike to other series, Sony continues releasing latest model under this flagship including last year. One of the XZ2 series is the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, the latest version of Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact that was released last October 2017. The XZ2 Compact is like the combination of the Xperia XZ2 (2018) and Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact (2017).

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Specs Compact is somewhat more similar to the Xperia XZ2 (2018) on selected specs and features. This phone (XZ2 Compact) was announced February 2018 and release this month of April 2018 for the availability in the market. It is a Hybrid Dual Nano SIM that supports up to 4G LTE network band. One of the highlights of the phone is having dust/waterproof features up to 1.5m for 30 mins. It has 5.0 inches Full-screen view display with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen specs.

The resolution specs for display is 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio and 483PPi density. The Multitouch specs can bare up to 10 fingers. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 along with features of HDR BT.2020 compliant, Triluminos display, and X-reality Engine. It is run with the OS of Android 8.0 (Oreo) powered by 2.7 GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor. The RAM capacity is 4 GB with 64 GB internal memory.

It can be expandable and add additional memory storage via external memory microSD card up to 400 GB using the SIM 2 slot. As for the primary camera, it has 19 MP f/2.0 with gyro EIS, predictive phase detection, and laser autofocus as well as LED flash. Also, including the camera features of Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, and HDR. As for the secondary or the front camera, it has the quality of 5 MP f/2.2 with gyro EIS, 1080p features. While the video resolution for recording has 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps and 1080p@960fps.

The phone doesn’t have 3.5mm jack port but it has 24-bit/192kHz audio features. Aside from that, it has a dedicated mic for noise cancellation. The connectivity features have the specs of WIFI dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, NFC, and USB Type-C port 3.1. It also has a fingerprint scanner (rear-mounted) along with the other sensor features such as an accelerometer, gyro, proximity, barometer, compass, and color spectrum.

The battery is non-removable and has the capacity of 2870 mAh. It is not too large capacity compared to the other smartphone devices but it supports with fast charging features. There are Four (4) options to choose in selecting color variations: the Black, White Silver, Moss Green and Coral Pink. Sony stated the official price of the phone that has about 600 EUR or Php 38, 214.00 converted into Philippine money.
