Huawei Honor 9i Review

Huawei Honor 9i Specs is quite similar with the Honor 9 Lite that was released last December 2017. Most of the specs of the two devices have similarities, we can say that the Honor 9i is the other version of the Honor 9 Lite. Back to the review of the Honor 9i, it was launched and released in the Global market last month of June 2018. Adapting the new design of having a full-screen view display of the Huawei P20 smartphone models. The size of the phone is a bit bigger compared to the Honor 9 Lite.

Honor 9i size of 5.84 inches with a dimension of 149.2 x 71.8 x 7.7 mm (5.87 x 2.83 x 0.30 in) and weighing 152g. It is a Hybrid Dual Nano SIM card with a dual standby mode features. It has a display type of IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The display resolution spec has the 1080 x 2280 pixels, 19:9 ratio and 432PPi density with a multi-touch feature. Comparing display spec with Honor 9 Lite, we can barely say it is more advanced in terms of specs.

The phone 9i model has the UI of EMUI 8.0 based on the Operating system of Android 8.0 Oreo. It is powered by 2.36 GHz Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor along with the GPU of Mali-T830 MP2. The RAM capacity of the smartphone is 4 GB along with the variety of a built-in internal memory of 64 GB and 128 GB. As a market strategy, choosing between the two internal storage has differed when it comes to the market price of the phone. Usually, the bigger storage is more pricey than the small capacity. The phone is supported with expandable external memory via microSD card up to the capacity of 256 GB storage using the SIM 2 slot for inserting the memory card.

When it comes with the camera specs, the Honor 9i has only dual camera lens at the back of the device that serves as a primary. The quality of the primary camera has the lens of 13 MP + 2 MP with phase detection autofocus features and LED flash. The additional camera features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. While the front or the secondary camera has a single lens with the quality of 16 MP (2.0µm), 1080p with a 1080p@30fps video resolution for the recording. Unlike with the Honor 9 Lite both front and back camera has a dual camera lens for capturing photos.

Aside from having all types of sound alerts, loudspeaker, and 3.5mm jack port it has an active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. The connectivity features packs with the specs of the following WiFi (WiFi Direct and hotspot), Bluetooth 4.2 (A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS), FM radio and micro USB 2.0 OTG ready. It has also a Fingerprint scanner rear-mounted located at the back of the device. The other sensor features are an accelerometer, proximity, and compass. The battery is non-removable Li-Po with 3000 mAh capacity. In terms of the color variations available on the phone, it has Black, Blue, Purple, and Lime. The official price of the phone is about 220 EUR or Php15,676.67 for the Philippines market price.
