Releasing a minimum of two (2) version of a smartphone is commonly used by all mobile phone brands as a marketing strategy. Sometimes it comes with a Plus version that has more advance in comparing the basic model. Usually, the set up in releasing another version of the smartphone model always ended with the same design, most of the specs and even the features. Considering that the Plus version will be more pricey than the other one. It may differ in some specs but overall it just quite similar to each other.
The PLUS version of the Asus Zenfone Max (M1) was released first in the market before the M1 version. ASUS announced last February 2018 that they will launch the M1 version of Asus Zenfone Max Plus (M1) with a different design. It rarely happens that both devices have a different design and the PLUS version was released first in the market. But the highlight of the PLUS version will be possible to have the same with the M1 version. Both devices might vary in some specs but it more like the same in terms of some specs and features.
Since Asus Zenfone Max M1 was not yet released in the market there are rumors on what will be the specs and features of the device. It has the dimension of 147.3 x 70.9 x 8.7 mm (5.80 x 2.79 x 0.34 in) and weighing 150 g. The same with the PLUS version it has a Full-screen display view with a 5.5 inches screen size. Along with the resolution specs of 720 x 1440 pixels, 16:10 ratio and 245PPi density. The smartphone is a Dual Nano SIM card that supports 4G LTE network band.
“Asus Zenfone Max M1” runs on ASUS ZenUI 5.0 based on the Android version 8.0 Oreo and possible to be powered by 1.4 GHz Quad-core / 1.4 GHz Octa-core with Snapdragon 425 / Snapdragon 430 processor. The storage of the phone will be 2 GB RAM with 16GB/32GB internal memory or 3 GB RAM with 32 GB Internal memory. The variations of storage can either of the two or the two will be available in the market and might depend on the country it will release. Aside from its RAM and Internal memory additional storage also possible for the smartphone supports expandable external memory using the microSD card up to 256 GB. Luckily, the external storage has it own dedicated slot to use.
The Asus Zenfone Max M1 has also a Dual rear camera with the quality of 13 MP f/2.0 + 8 MP gyro EIS, phase detection autofocus and LED Flash. The camera quality of the Dual lens is a bit low compared to the PLUS version. But has the same additional feature option such as Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. As for the front camera, it has the same quality with an 8 MP along with advance specs of f/2.2 gyro EIS. The resolution for video recording is 1080p@30fps, commonly used to all the smartphones.
Good thing to know that the M1 version will be having a dedicated mic for noise cancellation that the PLUS version doesn’t have. It WIFI ready, Bluetooth 4.0, FN radio, GPS and micro USB 2.0. In terms of sensory specs, it has Face Unlock and Fingerprint scanner rear-mounted. The battery capacity will be 4000 mAh Li-Po non-removable. ASUS didn’t mention if the smartphone will be capable of having a fast charging features just like the Plus version.

However, many users are waiting for its release along with the color variations available such as Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold, Ruby Red. The official price for the smartphone has not yet released by the ASUS.
