Vivo NEX S Review

Vivo NEX S Specs has a bit different compared to the NEX A model. The NEX series is the new flagship of the Vivo brand that comes with the first two smartphone models under of it. These NEX smartphones tend to be on of the high-end mobile phones of the Vivo brand. It was then announced back then last June 2018 for the official broadcast of Vivo for releasing a high-end smartphone. And eventually, the two (2) NEX mobile phone was released the same month it was announced.

NEX S or Also known as Vivo NEX Special Edition and NEX Ultimate has a quite similar with the NEX A model. Most of the specs and features are pretty the same. However, NEX S has more advanced technology than the NEX A model when it comes to Platform aspect and having a Fingerprint under-display scanner sensor feature as well as bigger Memory capacity. Other than that, most specs and features are the same as well as the design, size and even weights of the phone. Also, NEX S is more expensive when it comes to market price than the NEX A model.

The NEX S is a dual Nano SIM card with a dual standby mode features and supports up to 4G LTE network band. It has a size of 6.59 inches and 86% screen-to-body ratio. It has a dimension of 162 x 77 x 8 mm (6.38 x 3.03 x 0.31 in) and 199g. The phone has a display type of Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. Along with the display resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels, 388PPi density and 19.3:9 aspect ratio.

It is a feature of multitouch that runs with UI of Funtouch OS 4 based on the operating system of Android 8.1 Oreo. It is powered by a 2.7 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 processor along with the GPU of Adreno 630. The phone has 8 GB RAM with a 128 GB or 256 GB built-in internal memory storage. The same with the NEX A, still, it doesn’t have a card slot for expandable external memory storage. Storing files will be limited to only 128 GB or 256 GB as for the capacity of the internal memory.

On the other hand, the camera of primary has the quality of a dual lens with spec and features for capturing photos. It has 12 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.5″, 1.4µm, dual pixel PDAF, 4-axis OIS) + 5 MP (f/2.4, no AF, depth sensor) and dual-LED dual-tone for the LED Flash. While the secondary or the front camera has a Pop-Up design which has the quality of 8 MP (f/2.0) for taking selfies. The front camera will come out only when taking photos and recording videos. Additional camera features come with different modes such as Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. The video quality has a resolution of 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps for recording.

NEX S has a built-in Loudspeaker and supported with a 3.5mm jack port. It has 32-bit/192kHz audio feature and Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. The connectivity packs with the spec and features of WiFi (dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot), Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS, BDS, GNSS), and micro USB 2.0 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector with OTG ready. Mentioning above that NEX S doesn’t have a dedicated scanner for fingerprint but instead, it has a Fingerprint under-display feature. The Fingerprint scanner will be on the top of the screen where it has a good sensor to read your fingerprint stored for unlocking the phone or any security lock.

The battery is non-removable Li-Ion with 4000 mAh capacity. It has a fast charging feature of 22W. The colors available of the NEX S is Black and Red only. The official price of the smartphone is about 700 EUR.
