Things You Need To Do Before Starting The Process

  • Make sure you perform a full backup of your data
  • You have at least 70% of battery percentage to avoid any rooting interruption that might lead to bootlop
  • Download the required CF-Auto-root files for PC or Laptop.
  • OEM Unlock and USB Debugging is enabled (go to About Phone>SoftWare Info>Build Number [Tap 7 times until you see a notification that says “you are now a developer”]then go to Developer Options> And tap to checked USB debugging and OEM unlock to enable)

Note: Any files included here is not own or hosted by Android Crawl Blog, we have just included it here for the purpose of completion of the tutorial.

Please read all the warnings from Chainfire before proceeding. Make sure you understand that if your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, CF-Auto-Root will trigger it and that this process will void your device’s warranty.

Steps on How To Root Samsung Galaxy S8

  1. Extract CF-Auto-Root Zip files and then open the Odin Tool
  2. Turn-OFF the device completely
  3. Boot your device into Download Mode by simply pressing Volume Down + Power button + Bixby until you see a warning sign then released the key and now press the Volume Up to proceed into download mode.
  4. Open Odin Tool from the file you extracted on the CF-Auto-Root zip files (you will see the CF-Auto-Root.tar.md5 file – this will be needed from the Odin Tool for rooting your device).
  5. Now, Install Samsung Galaxy USB Driver, and then while your device is in DOWNLOAD MODE connect it to your PC or laptop using the USB connector of your device while the Odin Tool is also running.
  6. While the device is connected you will see an indication from Odin Tool that your device is detected, you will see at the top left a blue box below ID:COM and the Message Box that says “<ID:0/005>Added!!”, if you see that you are now sure that your device is connected.
  7. Click PDA button and locate the CF-Auto-Root.tar.md5 file from where you extracted the file and hit Ok or Open.
  8. Make sure that from Option Box only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and then double check again the process we provided above, look back the step to make sure that all is well.
  9. If you are 100% sure that the guide is followed correctly then you can now click the START button below the Odin tool Window to begin the rooting flash guide and wait for it to complete, do not touch or remove your device while it is processing.
  10. Once completed you will see a green icon at the top left that says “PASS”.

Congratulations! you are now successfully rooted your device, sometimes your device will automatically reboot just leave it as it is and then check if the SuperSU is installed, to ensure your device is fully rooted, you can install a Root Checker apps from Google Play Store, it is free to install.
